Von Karman vortex street, an apparently well-known flow, was solved initially by Theodor von Karman himself. In fluid mechanics, as usual, "the devil is in the details," and it turns out that some aspects of the vortex street are so idealized that it is challenging to reconstruct experimentally. Here is one of such attempts to "reinvent the wheel."
